Anyone who has some experience with Acro Yoga (or similar type of practice) is welcome to join. The sessions will have some structure but it will also be somewhat informal encouraging people to play and to try new things. We are hoping to bring in some special guest teachers every once in a while as well

Partners are not necessary since we’ll be mixing groups up. The warm ups will include partner and group yoga …from there anything goes!

Given this open structure we are asking that anyone joining us does have a little bit of experience in the practice to ensure we all practice mindfully and most importantly safely.

Bring a spouse, partner or friend as well as a sense of playfulness and come experience partner yoga with Sebastian and Kaelyn.

This workshop will focus on a more gentle and introductory approach to the partner practice. This will include: a brief discussion on partner yoga and its benefits, meditation, seated postures, basic standing postures concluding with gentle restorative postures and a lengthy relaxation.

This session is open to all levels.

Acro Yoga Playtime – Sundays at Octopus Garden 8pm! – Pay What You Can

Alright Tdot acro yogis…the time has come for our creativity to reach new heights!!

Starting this Sunday….drum roll please….Acro Yoga Playtime @ Octopus Garden!

That’s right.. a weekly, pay what you can, Acro Yoga, handbalancing, therapeutic throwdown!

Octopus Garden is located 967 College Street, just west of Dovercourt, on the south side. Parking is available on College Street and many of the nearby side streets.

*Please note that these play sessions are not supervised nor is there any formal instruction. While the community and the nature of the practice itself is designed to support and create relationship, we would ask that in order to play safely and ensure we can continue to use the space provided by Octopus Garden that you have some experience with acro yoga, acrobatics or circus arts.

We will continue to offer led monthly Acro Yoga Jam classes on Saturdays at the Yoga Sanctuary on the Danforth and so would strongly encourage you to join us there to learn new material and/or hone up some of your acro skills.

You can expect a wonderful Intro To Acro Yoga Workshop, our famous Partner Flow Workshop we are once again including our level 1 workshop which is ideal for those that have take our intro and want to take it up to the next level!!

This workshop will be great for those that have had an introduction to some form of Acro Yoga practice but are looking to establish some more fundamental skills in terms of the different ways of entering into various acro asanas.

Intro to Acro Yoga Workshop

Come with a friend or come alone and bring a sense of playfulness!!

Acro Yoga is an exciting blend of partner yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage.

This workshop will focus on safety, alignment, balance and concentration while applying mindfulness to the practice.

Beginning with a brief discussion on partner yoga, basic assists, the fundamentals of static acrobatics and partner body balancing we will create acro asanas as we build our confidence to base and fly.

Some experience with Ashtanga/Vinyasa yoga, gymnastics or acrobatics is recommended, as individuals should be able to hold plank, move through chaturunga dandasana with ease and feel comfortable with being upside down.

We expect this to fill up fast so register soon!

$25 per person or $50 per couple

upcoming workshops in the new year!

Heya!  We have some great news for those interested in learning the fundamentals of acro yoga!   On Sunday, January 15th, we are teaching an Intro to Acro Yoga workshop at the Yoga Sanctuary (College Studio) from 7 to 9 pm.   For those closer to the 905 area, we are also teaching an Intro to Acro Yoga workshop at the Yoga Sanctuary (Richmond Hill Studio) on Saturday, January 28th from 1 to 3pm.

If you are looking to bring a whole new level of depth and awareness to your yoga practice while having lots of fun, then register for our upcoming Partner Yoga workshops!  The first one is scheduled at the Yoga Sanctuary (Richmond Hill Studio) on Saturday, February 11th, from 1 to 3 pm.  The following one will be at Yoga Sanctuary (College Studio) on Sunday, February 12 from 7 to 9pm.

Acro Jam Dec 10th and other goodies!!

Hello peoples!

So, this may be your last time to jam for 2011 so don’t forget the date!

The good news is our calendar is booking up with workshops for January and February so you’ll have tons of opportunities to get back into the “acro of things” in the new year.

We’ll be teaching some Acro events and numerous Partner Yoga workshops in and around the city. Plus,  we’ll be making appearances at Yoga Sanctuary Richmond Hill and Oakville locations too!
